I sometimes wonder what determines fashion trends.
How did bib-overalls ever become trendy? What is the sense of wearing shorts that are nearly as long as pants? What ever happened to knickers? Did we, at some point, think the mullet was a sensible hairstyle? Why does a sweater look great one year and look terrible the next year when I pull it out of storage? Should women really get offended when people are simply reading the text emblazoned upon the rearof their sweats? Who ever thought a banana clip was a bright idea? (Those things just look dangerous!) When did tatoos move from taboo to trendy? Can flip-flops be worn with a dress in good conscience? Why did men stop routinely wearing suits and donning a variety of hats? Is it inappropriate for a man to wear a kilt if he's not Scottish?
